This park is really nice to go to. I would love to see picnic shelters and grills for family/friend get togethers. I would love a splash park to go along with the pool nearby so our younger kids can run around and cool off. Right now we have to drive 20 minutes and it would be great to walk to (a much "greener" idea). The playground equipment needs to be upgraded a bit too, add some more updated features, clean things up, etc.

I've got an idea! If you organize some folks to complete a small improvement project -- a clean-up, landscaping, etc -- you can then apply for a $750 Let's Play Maintenance grant. All the info is at kaboom.org/grants. If you got the grant, that would be enough to cover the materials you'll need to build some benches or picnic tables, and you can find plans for constructing those at kaboom.org/sideprojects. What you're talking about is DEFINITELY do-able -- and it can be done quickly, too. If you have any questions, just shoot me a message. It'd be awesome to see you do a project here and make the space better for the community!
