Adults and children alike can take advantage of the water play area at this beautiful new pier. The interactive science-themed playspace is located in the center of Pier 84. Pump water to make sculptures spin, then raise and lower sluice gates to operate a miniature canal. This is science in motion, but the kids will be having too much fun to realize they’re learning. Seasonal: Water features are turned off for the Winter. Also on the pier: The Pier 84 boathouse offers rowing and boatbuilding programs for people through Floating the Apple. Kids can play in a small pier, operate pumps, close water gates. Not sure if it's a destination in and of itself but a nice diversion for Circle Line or intrepid visitors on a hot day. If you enjoy tanning and looking at the ocean the place is great!
