I know Conger Park is not listed, but this is something to mindful of. Community Message has been issued by the Jackson Tennessee Police Department. Monday August 2, 2010 3:50 PM CDT Thefts from cars in City parks... Please don't leave valuables in your cars while utilizing parks - recent thefts. We have seen an uptick in thefts from cars in City parks over the last 10 days... Please don't leave valuables in your unattended cars while utilizing parks. In most instances the cars were unlocked. In one instance the driver was not sure if it had locked. The four recent incidents have occurred at cars parked at North Park, Liberty Park and Muse Park between 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.on week nights. They occurred while the vehicle owners were walking or jogging in the parks. Report suspicious activity to Police. For full details, go to https://local.nixle.com/alert/3025922/.

Outside of a new playspace for the kids, is there anything else you could see as a potential project for improving Conger Park?

Conger Park is a wonderful park with lots of shade trees! It could definately use some updating and more picnic areas! I think a paved walking trail around the park would be great for walkers and little bikers alike!!! It would be a great practice area for the little kids learning to ride!

I wonder how long of a trail could be created around Conger Park? It would be the most shaded walking trail in town. I wish the sidewalk was extended from the park to the Hicksville shopping area. I have tried in the past to walk on Highland between the two areas and it is just to dangerous without a sidewalk.

Love this playground because it is so close to our home. I have had one of my children's birthday parties there and the kids had a great time.

It's a great place centrally located in midtown. I miss the pool as well. It was a great place to cool off.

Such memories of this wonderful park with the mature shade trees!! With some attention, this park could be to a new generation what it was to my generation and I'd love to see the grant be awarded here.

I know we have the "movie in the park" at Liberty Park, but why couldn't we have it in Conger park? I think the stage area would be a great place to show movies. What do you guys think?

Great idea! I just had my girls there yesterday, and they "put on a show" for me on the stage! There was a great breeze under all those old trees, and we had a great time!

What a great space! Our church uses this wonderful shaded park to host our annual picnic! I have such wonderful childhood memories, as I went to the elementary school that used the park as the playground! The wonderful merry go round..that I was slung off of too many times to count..the huge metal slide that would burn your legs in the summer, and of course the wading pool that was always fun to jump into with your clothes on! Tennis lessons were always a must at this park! Its a lovely space and so under used!, yet still used by many! Please help us improve this park..its an awesome spot!

that's too sad that the pool is gone - I remember playing in it and the sprinkler.

Ever since I moved back, I thought a bocce court would be a great replacement for the wading pool. The benches are there and all you need to do is frame out the playing field.

I noticed yesterday that they've filled in the wading pool and covered it with sod!

I forgot about the merry-go-round! That was awsome.
