Garden of the Gods Park, 3130 N. 30th St. Visitors Center: indoor and outdoor exhibits on the flora, fauna, cultural history and geology of the park, exhibit on local American Indian history, dioramas depicting plants and wildlife, topographic map of rock formations, five murals showing the changing land and prehistoric life forms, theater, gift shop, fining facilities, meeting rooms, naturalist-led presentations and walks. The Park: features 20 major rock formations including Balanced Rock, Steamboat Rock and Kissing Camels, eight miles of trails (mountain biking, hiking, jogging, equestrian), picnic areas, rock climbing, scenic drive, American Mothers Chapel (may be reserved for small weddings) One-Seed Juniper Botanical Reserve; restrooms. Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site: (access off Gateway Rd. and N. 30th St.). Historical houses, working farm, and Heritage Gift Shop. Living History Program open Wednesdays-Sundays (June-August) and weekends in September. Special events occur year-round. Call 578-6777 for additional information.
