UNO's newest campus houses two elementary schools serving 600 K-8 students. These schools opened in September 2008, and UNO is in the process of attaining Gold LEED status for this campus as it is an adaptive re-use facility, which utilizes environmentally sustainable materials and practices. A playground at this location would serve 1200 predominately Hispanic urban students, of which over 90% are eligible for free/reduced lunch.
