This site is currently undeveloped and surrounded by a chain link fence. It is adjacent to and behind the building that houses the YWCA's Upton Childcare Center. The site as a whole is approximately 5,280 square feet--the YWCA anticipates using a portion for a new playground and landscaping the rest to provide an green urban oasis. It is in a depressed but busy west Baltimore neighborhood, where there is little to no other green space or play space for children. The site is owned by the Baltimore City Department of Parks and Recreation, which is fully supportive of the YWCA's playground project.
