South Beach, at the northernmost segment of Staten Island's Franklin Delano Roosevelt Boardwalk and Beach between Fort Wadsworth and Sea _x000D__x000D_ _x000D__x000D_ _x000D__x000D_ _x000D__x000D_ _x000D__x000D_ _x000D__x000D_View, features baseball fields, handball and shuffleboard courts, and playgrounds colorfully adorned with dolphins and carnival-faces that recall South Beach's long gone amusement parks._x000D__x000D__x000D__x000D_The truly intrepid can also take turns on the bocce courts, checker tables, the skateboard park, the roller hockey rink, and the long pier that provides a spot for year-round fishing._x000D__x000D__x000D__x000D_The boardwalk here is 7,500 feet long - the fourth largest in the world. Kids are entranced by the relatively new Dolphin Fountain located at the Sand Lane entrance. Six bronze dolphin figures are fastened to footings by posts and surrounded by wave-shaped rails.
