WNY AmeriCorps is partnering with Trinity Catholic Academy in order for the school to receive a The Home Depot-KaBoom: Community Build on its facilities. Mindful that the whole child must be developed, Trinity Catholic Academy is committed to providing a quality education experience for children from their Multi-Age Kindergarten (3-5) through Grade 8. Currently, the school does not have a modern play space for the 296 students and the designated play space is a large unused asphalt area. This area will be developed to include planters, picnic tables, hopscotch, foursquare and other outdoor activities. A fence will be built to enclose the space and colorful murals will be added to the walls. Many of the students return home at the end of the school day to unsafe neighborhoods and to empty homes.
