Zachary's Playground features many components that make it accessible including special surfacing and ramping to allow for easy access for children with mobility impairments; steel slides for children with cochlear implants; transfer platforms allowing children to easily get out of their wheelchair to use the slide; for children with visual impairments, many of the play panels have Braille, as well as unique and contrasting colors in much of the equipment and surfacing; shade structures were added for children who experience sensitivity to sun or high temperatures; specialized swings for children with support needs; and more. The playground was designed and built so that ALL children can play together, side by side.
