Dunedin Public Library Playground
223 Douglas Ave. Dunedin, FL,
2.1 Average Rating
Outside of the Library is a one structure playground with slide, walkway and stairs. The playground is in walking distance to several neighborhoods, the Pinellas Trail, the Dunedin Stadium, as well as a local elementary school. This playground has some safety issues.

The location of this playground is perfect for so many children to play on; but the only problem with this playground is that its a little run down... I would love to see a new change, for the better.

I just saw some kids having fun on the playground, too bad it's not more safe - newer, like it would be with help from KaBoom!

The playground definitely needs to be Americans with Disabilities friendly.

Yes I agree. There are so many kids who enjoying using the playground, but it is in need of some upgrading. I would love to see some creative/imaginative play equipment added, as well as handicap accessible play equipment.
I suggest the playground be updated because children love playing on the playground, and an updated version would probably attract more families and children to the Library, especially to the awesome youth department.

A great feature of the Dunedin Library is that it is so close to the Pinellas Trail. There are many families and children that use the trail daily by means of walking or bicycling. It would be great to have a new playground at the library that would offer such easy access to users of the Pinellas Trail.
The playground is lucky to have the library on the south side and the Blue Jays Stadium on the north side.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful library in our community with such an outstanding youth department. I agree that an updated, safe, and innovative new playground would attract more families and children to the library, and all the amenities it has to offer.

I too have noticed the rusted joints, and have been concerned with children injuring themselves. Adding benches is also a great idea!
A new playground and plenty of benches for the adults would benefit the library and the other patrons. The children could have a nice place to play before they enter the library. It could extinguish a bit of their energy so they aren't running around inside. In addition, it would be a great social environment for parents after their terrific storytimes.

Yes! What a great place for kids! Story time, the new water features and garden - all we're missing is the up-to-date playground.

Dunedin Public Library already does a great job with their children's programs. A new playground would add a safe, energenic outlet to enhance the kids' experience.

It would be so great to have play equipment for older children as well. This would offer families with an age gap in children the opportunity to have one playground the whole family could enjoy.
It would be great if the play area could accomodate kids of all ages.
I agree with apeygrapey. There should be equipment for the older kids as well. A few benches would be nice for the parents and caregivers to keep an eye on their kids.

As the playground stands right now, there is no play equipment for older kids. It would be awesome to add some new equipment for the "tween" age group, so they could also utilize the playground as well as the library.

Story time is Awesome! It would be even cooler if the kids could unwind outside.

The Dunedin Public Library is such a fanstastic place for children. It is used by thousands of children and families each year. Our current playground is in need of updating and repair. What a great way to offer a beautiful playspace for our community!
Yes, the Dunedin library truly is a fantastic place for families and children of all ages. I think the addition of an updated, creative play space would be an incredible asset to the library as well as the entire community.
