This is a private playspace without public access. Preschool and School for children with autism, an extremely worthy cause! I am nominating my sons school, New Heights. They are a special school for children with autism. The school was started by several parents who could not find suitable educational options for their autistic children. They have only been open about 6 years but for the first three they operated without any government funding, and while they have funding now the school has not been able to afford luxuries such as this. A playground such as this would benefit these children in unimaginable ways! Autistic children don't automatically learn from the world around them as a typical child would. They need to be taught and encouraged using tools and strategies but in order for this to work the child needs to be motivated to learn, not always easy for these kids who are bombarded with stimuli that they can't ignore every second of the day. Being able to encourage these kids to use and build their playskills and imaginative abilities would help to improve the quality of life for 40 autistic students!

Hi all....we are doing fantastic so far! The school and families are voting...people are promoting via facebook and twitter. The local radio stations and TV stations are starting to pick up on the story of our school! The community bulletins are getting lots of hits, and are contacting us for information on our plight! People are even honking when they drive by on McKnight BLVD. and see the signs the kids made! This community is behind us, and word is spreading. It is quite amazing to see "pay it forward" in action! People care about our kids and about their future....if we win this...its because of everyone who took the time to spread the word, or vote (even once) or hand out flyers, etc. There are lots of people who have had their hands in making this happen, and they are all deserving of a huge virtual HUG for spreading the love! It makes me so happy to see so many great people come together for our wonderful kids! Keep up the great work...2 weeks to go! Peace

We are so close to being number one. We just need all of our parents participating. This playground would help our kids so much, from the esc class to the high school class. It is so fantastic that we are so close to winning. I'll be doing this everyday from now one. Come everyone lets win this wonderful playground.

We have come so far, and it is a true testament to our community and family at New Heights and in Calgary, in general, that we are in the Top 10. Imagine the success we would see with new equipment!
