This is a private playspace without public access. Preschool and School for children with autism, an extremely worthy cause! I am nominating my sons school, New Heights. They are a special school for children with autism. The school was started by several parents who could not find suitable educational options for their autistic children. They have only been open about 6 years but for the first three they operated without any government funding, and while they have funding now the school has not been able to afford luxuries such as this. A playground such as this would benefit these children in unimaginable ways! Autistic children don't automatically learn from the world around them as a typical child would. They need to be taught and encouraged using tools and strategies but in order for this to work the child needs to be motivated to learn, not always easy for these kids who are bombarded with stimuli that they can't ignore every second of the day. Being able to encourage these kids to use and build their playskills and imaginative abilities would help to improve the quality of life for 40 autistic students!

How much fun would our kids have with this?! Not to mention the fine/gross motor skills that would benefit, as well as overall playskills and building imaginative play. All a must for autistic children!!! I can not tell you what a playground like this would do for the future quality of life of countless children who will go through New Heights doors in years to come!! Please consider this school who's children are very much in need of a structure just like this! http://imaginationplayground.org/

My great friend April McNamara is a teacher for the autistic children. She loves the kids so much and it would be great for the children to have a safe playground. Lets take this on home and do this for the kids in CalgaryAlberta New Heights Learning Center.

That's a great point - not only is fun and play an important part of every child's life, but it is also therapeutic for these children! I so hope they win - they really need and deserve this!

All kids can benefit from a great play space, but ASD children would excel with a proper playground

ASD children need space like this more than anyone, as the very essence of Autism is not knowing how to interact and play and communicate with other children or adults! This would be a miracle for these students! Go New Heights

What a great gift this would be for the children who attend New Heights!!! The current "playground" doesn't tell the story of what this school is really all about. It would be nice if the outside (playground) fit with the image of the heart and soul that's so evident once you step inside the doors of this amazing school!!! Go! New Heights Go!

Its great to see how hard everyone is working at promoting this wonderful cause! The little engine that could, is a great metaphor for the process New Heights takes in attaining anything and everything...and I believe this contest will prove to be the same! This is a school of hard working underdogs. Children with ASD are often thought to be the underdogs, and as it turns out, they always prove the world wrong, and can be highly successful. The work and energy the staff and families provide for these children, is exactly the same...they do so much with limited resources. This contest could open up so many doors for our kiddos... Even if we were to lose, the amazing thing is to see everyone pulling together for such a worthwhile cause.
