A little time capsule of a playspace, unchanged (except for paint and maintenance) since it was built in the 1960s, this small area of benches and concrete play structures has one of the best preserved specimens of that endangered species, ballena concreta noviorquensis - the NYC concrete whale. There is also a good specimen of the concrete tortoise. The kids can amuse themselves here for a few minutes before or after Sol Bloom Playground on the other side of the fence.
